KAMATIVI Mining Company (KMC) was last night honoured for excellence in making a positive impact on the society and the environment in the country.
The company, which is heavily involved in Corporate Social Responsibility has invested heavily in providing clean water, improving infrastructure, and promoting education and training in the local communities.
Some of the specific projects include the drilling of boreholes equipped with solar pump systems, the construction and rehabilitation of roads, school blocks and the reinstatement of electricity in local communities.

The awards were conducted by Environment, Social Governance Network Zimbabwe and winners were drawn from various sectors and industries that were creating positive impact towards Zimbabwe’s sustainable development and the promotion of Government’s Vision 2030 and the Global Sustainable Goals.
Kamativi Mining Company was recognised for “The Social Impact and Excellence Award” for the company’s environmental projects and conservation initiatives.
KMC spokesperson Dumisani Chihoto said their company share the government’s vision for the sustainable utilisation of resources.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious environmental award, recognizing our commitment to responsible and sustainable mining practices.
“At Kamativi Mining Company, we share the government’s vision for the sustainable utilisation of resources and are dedicated to preserving the environment for future generations,” he said.
“We will continue to uphold world-class standards in our operations, ensuring that our activities not only minimize environmental impact but also benefit local communities and contribute to a better future for all.”
Environment, Social Governeance executive director Mr Willard Razawo said the growing recognition of ESG princiles as a critical component of business strategy and national development.

“Despite these challenges, I am heartened by the resilience, creativity, and determination of the Zimbabwean people.
